The cinders provided excellent material to re-create. LOCATION: Sunset Volcano National Volcanic Monument is located about 16 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ off of US 89. Course: 12 mile loops that winds throught the pine trees and up cinder and down cinder hills. Near Flagstaff, Ariz., are fields of volcanic cinders, the result of eruptions about the year 1065.
